Butterfly Memories

Butterfly Memories’

Like a fluttering butterfly,
I carried colors, of
Vibrant blue, and lively pink
Vivid orange, and world of red

Closed, you did, your hands
Over me, and as you watched on
My colors faded, and my
Wings thrashed, ready to escape

You smiled a cruel smile, as
My heart beat became distant
My wings closed in defeat and
As I died, I remembered it all

Beautiful, beautiful memories
When I was a butterfly,
When I was free and wild, I
Remembered how it was before you…
