‘Being a Mom…’

Being a mother is not easy… It is not supposed to be…

Being a mother means…

You have to sacrifice your midnight slumber and all your beauty sleep…

You have to eat and bath during the time your baby sleeps. You have to do things you like if he ever sleeps…

You have to stop eating through halfway and rush out from half of the shower when the baby cries for food…

You have to put off anything you do when he cries…
(I have to put off writing this because he cried just now)

You have to neglect your head ache, your groaning body, for your baby needs you at odd times…

You have to learn to accept that you can’t write all the stories buzzing in your head, because you just don’t have enough time…

You have to ignore the pain in your arms and hands and bones and palms and rock his cradle until three in the morning, or until he falls asleep…

You have to ignore your aching back, and rock him in your shoulder to pacify him…

You have to give up many things for your lil one, until one day he grows up…

And…

It is all worth it when one day he looks at you and say…

‘Mom, you are the best!’
