‘Healthy Living…’

Food plays an important role in our life. We need food to move healthily in day to day life. These days though, foods are mostly categorized along with poisons. Yes, as the modernization knocks, many food varieties lost its originality and comes to our door step with toxics mixed along with them.

1. When you eat fruits wash thrice, if not more.
2. When you eat vegetables, boil them a little (not too much to drain all the nutrients with water, but just a little)
3. Avoid eating fast-food as much as you can.
4. Don’t over-indulge on broiler chicken.

These are the advises I’ve been given by doctors.  But… In the fast pace of life, fast-foods has become a necessity, and thus the wait gain has become a part of our life, too.

As we continue to run, we eat whatever, and torture our body with all the food it doesn’t need, and when we finally stop and decide to look after ourselves, we’d be shock to see the outcome of negligence on every fat-acquired corner of our body, and then continues the phase of torturing the body the second time around, and this time, without food. Crash diet has become an irreplaceable part in most of our life, but these kinds of dieting doesn’t help our body – it further damages our body.

It’s not right to torture the body with that kind of dieting, and harming it. Instead, if we follow a balanced meal plan everyday, it will help us to maintain our body fit and healthy.

A healthy diet provides the body with essential nutrition: fluid, adequate essential amino acids from protein, essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and adequate calories. The requirements for a healthy diet can be met from a variety of plant-based and animal-based foods.

Balanced Diet is the one that gives our body the right amount and right kind of nutrition and supply required energy for the proper functioning of the body.

A balanced diet is mostly stressed, because our body’s organs, tissues and muscles need proper nutrition to work effectively. Without proper food, it may malfunction, and can lead to various health issues including fatigue, poor performance of both body and brain etc.,

But… You don’t have a time to draft the meal chart and follow it religiously? Don’t worry. Stop eating things that burden your stomach, and replace it with veggies, fruits (don’t forget to wash, please), grains etc., to give your body the energy it needs.

Honey Diet:

From my young age, the use of honey has been regular in my home, because… We believed that honey heals various diseases. It is true, as well, and been proven scientifically. 

Your Lord revealed to the bees: “Build dwellings in the mountains and the trees, and also in the structures which men erect. Then eat from every kind of fruit and travel the paths of your Lord, which have been made easy for you to follow.” From inside them comes a drink of varying colours, containing ‘healing’ for mankind. There is certainly a Sign in that for people who reflect. (Qur’an, 16:69)

Some other benefits:

Honey is mild on stomach and is easily digested. It also helps the functioning of kidneys and intestines.

Rapidly diffuses through the blood; is a quick energy source: When accompanied by mild water, honey diffuses into the bloodstream in less than seven minutes. Its free sugar molecules make the brain function greater. (And thus we are advised to take honey with warm water on empty stomachs)

Honey provides an important part of the energy needed by the body for blood formation and thus ensures newer blood cell formation. It helps in blood purification, as well.

Honey is anti-bacterial. The existence of hydrogen peroxide as well as antioxidants in the honey prevents bacteria growth.

Honey is an antioxidant.

Vitamin and mineral depot – it supply large quantities of vitamin and mineral per sip.

Honey is also used as an antibiotic to bandage wounds, and other injuries.

So eating honey with different foods, replacing honey with sugar can help us improve the body functioning and maintain a proper diet as well.
